How to Survive Your Wedding Day: 7 Tips

HOW TO SURVIVE YOUR WEDDING DAY

Weddings are a roller coaster of events and emotions. After photographing hundreds of weddings, here are a few tips to keep in mind on your wedding day.

1. Breathe

This may seem obvious now, but remember to take deep breaths and stay calm. It’s completely normal to feel nervous on your wedding day. If you feel yourself getting overwhelmed, take a moment to relax, close your eyes, and take a deep breath. Everything will be okay.

2. Be Present

Stay present in the moment. Your wedding day will fly by, so make sure to stay present and enjoy each and every moment. Let me say that again… be present.. and enjoy each and every moment.

3. Fuel Up

Eat a good breakfast and/or lunch. Having the fuel to power through the day will greatly affect your mood and how you feel throughout the day. And don’t forget to stay hydrated!

4. Delegate

Delegate tasks to trusted family and friends. Don’t try to do everything yourself on your wedding day. These people are here to help so don’t be afraid to ask for it so you can fully enjoy your big day.

5. Appreciate

On that note, take time to appreciate the people around you. The love you have for one another and the love you’re celebrating is the main reason for all of this. Take a moment, say thank you and give them a hug.

6. Pause

Take breaks! Weddings move fast. It’s one event to the next. Make sure to rest when you need to. Step away from the festivities for a few minutes to recharge.

7. First Dance

Enjoy your first dance together. Your first dance as a married couple is a special moment, so take the time to enjoy it together. Embrace, gaze into each other’s eyes, kiss, smile, just have fun!

Final Thoughts

You’ve spent an enormous amount of time and money planning your wedding and now it’s here. It’s so important to enjoy your wedding to the fullest. This is a day of celebration and the start of a new chapter in your life. Have fun. Drink that glass of champagne. Twirl to see your gown flow. Dance like no one is watching.

You’ll remember this day for the rest of your life and your photographs will be the proof.
