Planning your wedding day
Your wedding day is approaching!!! In my experience, one of the, if not THE most important way to prepare, is to create a timeline. This is essentially a schedule of all of the events that are planned for your big day.
Having a timeline for your wedding is very important. It sets realistic expectations for the day so there are no surprises and shots aren’t missed. There are no redo’s with weddings.
Some things to keep in mind; Weddings rarely run on time, so adding some buffer here and there is always a good idea. If events take place in different locations, then travel time needs to be considered as well.
When it comes to family formals, I try to get this done within 30 minutes. On average, it takes 1 to 2 minutes per grouping. If you have a large family with many combinations, more time may be needed. When family formals take more than 30 minutes, it can take away time from the creative bride/groom portraits. If you’re having a First Look, then this frees up a lot of time for the family formals after the ceremony.
Pro Tip: If getting those creative bride/groom portraits is a priority for you, please set aside at least 30 to 45 minutes.
