Kelly + Kyle Engagement - 05.31.2018
Kelly and Kyle are a joy to be around. They're a fun loving couple that's easy going and genuine. I had the pleasure to spend a few hours with them on Thursday, May 31st for our engagement session. We started off at my favorite lunch spot... Chipotle!
Chipotle has a lot of meaning to Kelly and Kyle (besides being delish) - that's where they had their very first date. So it only made sense to take their engagement pictures there! Well, at least a few. After we took some photos and Kyle devoured a burrito, we drove around the corner to the beautiful Cantigny Park in Wheatland, IL. It was hot and humid, but we couldn't have asked for a better day.
Both Kelly and Kyle laughed throughout the shoot, which made it easy to capture genuine emotions and you could see the love they have for each other. There are many gorgeous spots to take pictures at Cantigny Park and we just about hit them all during our three hour session. One of my favorites is the one with the tank! I mean, it's not everyday you can take a picture while sitting on a tank.
As it got later in the evening, we were lucky to get a beautiful sunset, which made for an awesome backdrop. I snapped away while Kyle was twirling Kelly around with the colorful sky in the background. All we were missing was some music! These were some of my favorite pictures of the night.
After the sun went down, we headed back to our cars. Kelly wanted to surprise Kyle with some Star Wars themed photos by bringing a couple light sabers, but before the shoot Kyle spotted them in the trunk! He was excited (and so was I) for this part of the session. We ended up with a few different Star Wars photos and they turned out really cool!
All in all it was a great shoot. All the factors were there - great weather, beautiful sunset, gorgeous location, and an awesome couple! I had so much fun with these two and I can't wait to capture their wedding on October 5th, 2018!
